His Servants Update . . .

Ephesians 2:10       "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

If you or someone you know is in need, please let

us know.

If you have or are aware of someone who has a need to please let us know.

There are so many organizations who need funding and volunteers.  I am currently looking into opportunities within our community to keep things close to home and get people involved.  I have opportunities from two organizations within our community.

Three Rivers Community Action continues to need volunteers to deliver meals on wheels in Cannon Falls and Wanamingo.  If you are interested in doing this, please contact Nicole Pelzl at 800 277-8418.  And thank you to our members who are already involved in doing this for others.  I believe Three Rivers does pay your mileage if needed.

I reached out to Katy Schuerman, the K through 6th grade principal at K-W school and they are currently trying to organize a volunteer core, so to speak.  They have needs for volunteers to come in and read to a grade level one day each week.  This does not have to be the same person every week.  But for organizational purposes they would need to have it on the same day each week and that could be perhaps a Monday, Wednesday or Friday am preferably between 8:20 and 9 am.  I would love to get a group of people who have the willingness and time to do this and set up a schedule.  The more people we have the less often you will need to take your turn!

Of course, this requires a background check.

Another need at K-W is donations for what they call “Angel accounts” that goes to help students who have trouble paying for their lunches and sometimes for scholarships for students to attend a special event.

And they have a rather innovative program they call the “Maker’s Space.”  This is a hands on building program for the children focusing on science, technology, math and engineering.   They make things out of for instance blocks, straws, jello and other common items.  They also paint their projects and need funds to replenish their supplies from time to time.

Please contact Ali Coulter if you are interested in these opportunities to help our local children.

One of the many Bible verses regarding giving is from 1 John 3:17,  “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”  This is so true and one of the verses we often think about as we move forward with this ministry.  Thank you so much for your generosity!
